Lowering questions

I did a quick search and didn't find what I was looking for, but I have never lowered my car before. I wanted the community’s opinion on lowering the G on stock 19's. Does it look right or would I be better served going with aftermarket rims. I love the way the stock wheels look though.

Also what price range should I expect if I have the car lowered by a professional. Thanks guys and if there are any pics or links to what it would look like that would help as well.

A lot of members on here as well as myself are dropped on stockies and they look great! The installion price, you're probably looking around $300-$400.

itll look good lowered on stocks. Get some spacers to push the wheels out to the fenders for a more aggressive look.

You also might want to get a camber kit to get your alignment back in to spec.

Def find someone who does it at there house or something for around 150 rather than 300 at a shop.

I think the G looks pretty clean lowered on stock 19"s, if you have the money than get wheels; otherwise, just go w/ what you like the most. Install should be around 150-300 based on your area.

So do you need to get a chamber kit for both the front and rear when you lower the car?
a regular alignment wouldnt be enough? also how much are chamber kits?

Depends on what springs you go w. You will def need camber kit for the rear, fronts are a good idea to save premature tire wear. Camber kits are 369.00 for the front and 215.00 for the rears. Regular alignment can correct to a certain degree.

What springs would you say are good ones? And no matter what springs I would get I still need chamber kits correct?

They are all good, just depends on what drop rate you want to get. The drops from least to most are: Eibach, Tanabe, H&R, and Teins. I would def recommend camber kits, spending $ on them now will be cheaper down the road versus spending money on new tires.

If you're looking for a subtle drop and you're hoping to stay on the inexpensive side, then like everyone else said, Eibach Pro Kit springs are the way to go. Many of us (myself included) have been able to get extremely close to spec, or even within spec, with a good alignment about a month later. If you're super **** about even tire wear, then go with the camber kit and toe bolts, but IMO you won't need them with Eibachs.

As for the wheels, stick with the stock 19's!! At the rate things are heading on this forum, you and I will have the only G37's with stock wheels within a few months!!
