TPMS / Aftermarket wheels

So i just put on a set of after market wheels w/ winter tires mounted on them and also got the sensors installed in the rims so my TPMS won't go off, but yesterday they did and I took it to the stealership and they told me I need to get the TPMS re-initialized in order for the sensors to work.

Does anyone know if this is true and if so, will i need to do the same thing again when i put my stock 19's back on for the summer?

FYI - I drive a G37S

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

First ... are you SURE they moved them into your winter set up?

If they they did and they are the same ones from your car, they are already matched to the cars BCU. Drive around a little more ... the light should go off.

I actually got a new set of sensors for the aftermarket wheels, my OEM rims weren't touched at all.

ah

new set, you'll have to have them matched to the car. and everytime you want to switch wheels you'll have to do that

Really? That bites.

The shop I dealt with ordered everything for me, they have a warehouse they deal with that sells them.

tirerack.com ships wheels/tires with TPMS installed. I was wondering whether the computer needed to be reset as well.

In the past when I had the TPMS issues it reset after about 3 or 4 days.

there were a few wheels that wouldnt register sensors for the rear tires especially if they're too wide.
