It is active cooling for the brakes. Notice how the vanes pull from inside to out? This technology is banned from formula 1 racing because it works. Most wheels just hold the car off the ground, at least these do something else useful.

yeah i have always wondered who makes these rims, personally i love them. Like is mentioned above they are used on MB (i think specifically the SLR has them on it) and I have seen it on some BMWs as well. (there is a Z4 in my parking structure that has those wheels). I tried doing the search but came back with nothing.

Its a matter of opinion like all things, I think they are beautiful, especially when moving at slow speeds, then they are just amazing.

I thought they were for six bucks on that link but I then realized its just for hobby cars, haha.

Anyone find actualy prices for some 19"s?
