StopTech needs car to test fit prototype parts asap

One of the forum members was kind enough to loan us his car for measurement to design a brake upgrade system. Unfortunately, that car is not available in the coming weeks. We need a G37 asap to test fit the prototype parts we made.

The car would need to be dropped off at roughly 8AM, and wouldn't be available to pick up until about 5pm. Therefore, it would be wise to arrange for other transportation. We will simply pull the stock brake components off the car, and install ours to make sure everything fits properly. The car will not even be driven. Our facility is located right on the 91 Freeway in Compton, CA, so it's very easy to access.

You will receive a very hefty discount on a brake upgrade if you help us out. We are doing a 6 piston front on a 15" rotor (380mm), and a 4 piston rear on a 14" (355mm) rotor.

Please email me at jeff@stoptech.com, or call 310-933-1104. Thank you very much.

This is a GREAT opportunity for those that are close by!

Jeff ... will the 6 piston ST-60 caliper fit in the stock wheel of the G37S with Akebono brakes? What about the G37 non-sport wheels?

Same question with ST-40 on stock G37 and G37S rear wheels.

Do you have fitments templates available for those interested?

Hey Jeff,

This sounds like a great opportunity to knock some weight off the G37 along with improving the brakes! Any guess on how much weight might be saved?

I understand there are still no takers because they just called me up to help them out. I already have a BBK, so if I do it, the hefty discount will be lost. I thought I'd throw this out there so you G37 owners in the L.A. area can get first shot at it. PM me if you have questions or are interested.

Thumbs up

We're all squared away guys...thanks for the offers.

We test fit parts today, and everything went perfectly. We will be showing our four wheel BBK on GT Motorsports' booth car at SEMA.

Specs:
Front
ST-60 six piston on 380x32mm rotor (15")

Rear
ST-45 four piston on 355x32mm rotor (14")

The front and rear kits clear the G37S stock wheels. I'm not sure about the non-sport wheels. We'll have the wheel fitment templates up within a few days though.

We will begin accepting orders within the next week or two. Expect pricing to be in line with our 350Z and G35 product lines...most likely $3195 front and $2595 rear. Thanks.

I'm still interested on some performance numbers. How soon do you think they'll be available? weight and 60-0 times would be great

It's probably not going to improved much since it'll be drilled rotors and typically the regular rotors gives you better stopping power than drilled or slotted ones.

I don't see why someone would swap out their already excellent braking system on sports package unless you are take your car to track or something. I would rather spend that money on suspension and performance mods.

Just my $0.02

Its not so much a matter of faster stop times... but the ability for your braking system to perform better while braking over and over again...

Just one stop, the brakes are going to perform similarly, you wont notice the difference till after a few stops are performed...

Slotted or Drilled are not going to perform much different, you will get less glazing of the rotors / pads with slotted or drilled rotors... that will be the main benifit from that...

expect much greater cooling from any stop tech big brake kit, large pad availability, great customer service, quick turn around on caliper rebuilds, a company that fully stands behind their product, READLY AVAILABLE REPLACEMENT ROTORS (I cant tell you how many times people are trying to find willwood replacement rotors at a reasonable price quickly)...
