Are there any specifications out for the OEM sport shocks, 2009 to be specific? And compared to any of the aftermarket sets?
Improving the suspension is high on my list of mods. That and getting a square wheel setup.

The non-sport shocks are branded by Nissan, whereas the sport shocks are made by Tokico. AFAIK, that's been a thing for Nissan for the last couple decades... using Tokico parts for their "sport" suspension. So for aftermarket, I'm guessing Tokico HP Blues are similar to OEM sport shocks. I believe the KYB shocks at TireRack are similar.
Tein offers a very reasonably priced set of coilovers that are height-adjustable, but without user damping settings. The ride is very similar to the OEM sport suspension.

MeisterR 370Z coil-overs offer both height and damping adjustment for not much more than the Tein. They even come with rear remote adjusting cables you can run behind the back seat to make adjusting the rears very easy. Spring rates are very much like stock for my S. Damping can be mild through stupid stiff. Current street setting is ever so slightly stiffer than OE S damping at low speed (damper, not vehicle) while high speed is definitely better, especially at the ends of the suspension stroke. Only caveat is that I had to set the height as high as they'd go (per factory limit) to keep my front sway bar from smacking the pavement on "big" changes in road height. These dampers should have longer bump stops and/or a stiffer springs.
I wanted to get data on the sport shocks to compare them to the aftermarket options. Specifications meaning low and high speed dampening rates. Shock dyno stuff.
If you're going to lower the car, the springs should be stiffer. Simply because you have less suspension travel to work with.
Slartibartfast, what's hitting the ground? The actual sway bar?

Since I raised the front during corner-weighting, it doesn't hit now, though the 10k/8k springs are still too soft. If funds allow this year, I'm going to get a set of their custom dampers with higher rates and longer bump stops. Nearly double the price, though.
