When I was testing my wheel bearings, to see which was bad, I did some wheel tug testing and nothing sounded like that...

 

That is excessive play in the steering assembly. Start by checking your outer tie rods.

Check your passenger side. It shouldn't wiggle at all. If it has the exact same sound than I think you're pulling on it too hard and just turning the steering wheel rather than checking the rack for play.

Could be your tie rod or you're pulling on the wheel too hard and just causing the steering wheel to hit the steering lock as you go back and forth.

 

I replaced the kinetix upper control arm bushings. The bushings cost me $1.75 each. Well the clunk sound is gone!

 

 

Seems like the clunk can be caused by essentially every suspension component that I haven't replaced yet. Can't think of a great way to approach this methodically - still driving around with the clunk / looseness sounds.

 

I would strt by disconnecting the front sway bar. Go for a drive to see if it is gone. That way you can eliminate the sway bar endlinks without costing you any $$

Do you have the part number and vendor you purchased these kinetix upper control arm bushings from? Do you have an X or 2wd?
