Rear Damper Mounts
My OEM rear damper mounts are worn, one worse than the other, where they are groaning as the back end raises and lowers. It's mostly noticeable when crawling around a parking lot or in my driveway, and it's been driving me nuts for the last three months. I went to a local speed shop this morning, and that's the diagnosis: the mounts. I thought it was the passenger rear damper, but the mechanic was pretty confident, and said the dampers are fine.
The rear dampers are Tein Basis, with matching springs and adjustable top-seats. But the damper mounts are OEM. Is this an aftermarket part, where one choice has an argument over another? Or do I just buy OEM mounts? Probably a dumb question, but meh.

If you are talking about the upper rear shock mounts, I don't think they can squeak. They don't move with the suspension. The upper part of the shock bolts to a metal sleeve that is bonded to rubber and connects to the metal "top hat".
Since they are so close to each other and connected, it can be very hard to determine shock from shock mount.
With the low mileage on your car, I would suspect the aftermarket dampers.
Nissan makes good quality suspension parts.

Not sure if KW has their own damper mounts but if so that would be worth a look since they also use OEM or OEM-typemounts for their coilovers.

Good job, Brad. Apparently that's the identical mount used by the 370Z.I would think I'd need mount & bushing... right? (#5 and #4)
Flying blind here. Wish I had them in my hands to assess what's what.

Found this video this morning on the Altima, which shares a similar rear damper design as our G. It's actually pretty funny the way he created the video all sped up like this.
Anyway, note around the 2:45 mark, where he has all the parts laid out. Just looking at this, seems that I should replace the mount plates *and* the bushings.
It also looks to me like a strong argument for DIY. Dammit.
