Braking and VDC

New to this forum, but have a quick question. Bought a used 2013 Infiniti G37 sedan with 41,000 miles. Carfax was clean with only one owner, dealer said he traded in for SUV. Had if for about 3 months now, drive great, but now noticing when i accelerate at a higher rate, my parking brake light comes on, then when i slow down the VDC light comes on and the parking brake goes off? Was looking at some other posts and some suggestions were my brake fluid was low or that might be my brake pads need replacing? Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Abel M

I would check the fluid first, as that's an easy fix.

I bought my G used with 74k miles on it and the PO wasn't sure when the brakes were done last. When I test drove the car, the "BRAKE" light came on immediately and the VDC/slip light was on constantly. The rotors felt pretty warped and the pads were squeaky. So, I did some research on the forum here which suggested it was just the pads needing to be replaced and negotiated that into the deal.

$340 later (or so), and a few hours spent working on the car on a Saturday afternoon, and my new rotors and pads from Rockauto solved the problem immediately. As soon as I started the car up, both lights were gone.

So - check the fluid first, and if that looks OK, it's likely the pads.

had it serviced at the dealership for oil change and inspection, yes brakes were 2/10 on the rear, 5/10 on the front. brake fluid was ok.

also took to brake check, said same thing, except they recommended brake bleed every year. have you heard of such thing and would you do to ur g37?

Thanks

Its really easy. If you have done all those other cars then shouldnt be an issue for you.

Topping off the brake fluid (DOT3) would be first option. I had this problem, and 2-5 tablespoons of brake fluid solved the problem for me.

I had the exact same issue as well, it was just the brake fluid level. This car seems to like the level exactly up to the line, if not even just a hair over. Its very picky compared to every other car I have owned. I am willing to bet topping things off will fix your concern.

Brake fluid is a little low since your brakes are worn down. It's sloshing around when you accelerate hard, which trips the low fluid sensor. When stationary, it probably looks like it's just on the low-end of normal. add a splash of fluid to the reservoir and I bet it goes away. Just remember to remove some when your do your brakes so you don't overflow the reservoir when pushing back the piston.

I'd say if it's time for a fluid flush, just do a fluid flush. Otherwise, your front brakes need replacing soon, so doing those will probably raise the fluid level enough to negate the issue
