Koni Yellows

fellas

I have an 08 coupe and am currently lowered on tein s-tech springs with camber arms in the rear. I was looking into to getting some Koni Yellow struts for the front. However, I only have enough $ for the front struts right and not the rear shocks as well. So essentially id be running the struts in the front and OEM shocks in the back. Should I do this or should I just save up for coilovers? I daily the car and its completely stock besides the two things I listed as well as wheel spacers.

Are you planning on lowering your car? Because you'll obviously need to buy springs as well to go with them. Koni's can turn out to be just as expensive as coilovers. I would suggest you save up for the coilovers. You can find some pretty good deals on the classified section.

Not only do you get adjustability, but the install will also likely be cheaper because the techs won't have to mount the springs.

It wont technically hurt anything to run the konis up front temporarily. The car may feel a bit odd. The rear shocks are a super easy install though, so it wouldn't be a big deal to change those out later. And for the record I think only a few coilovers can compete with Konis as far as quality of the damper. Also, our cars have shocks all around. No struts.

Yes i meant front shocks sorry lol. I didnt think it would hurt anything, just that the ride would be stiffer in the front. The only thing with coilovers is height adjustability, thats what draws me more towards them. I wanted a second opinion about them though because my shocks are wearing out quickly due to the springs.

Height adjustability (and the ability to corner weight) is definitely nice. Wonder how much work it would take to make some coilover sleeves. Koni Fronts already have a snap ring slot...
