Suspension Opinions....
Warning:long post
my 2013 g37(non s) sedan is on the Eibach pro kit dropped 1.5 front 1.2 rear.
I am on lightweight wheels that are staggered, 19X8.5 front and 19 X 9.5 rear.
tire sizes are 245/40/19 front, and 275/35/19 rear.
I like the ride height and do not want to go any lower. I already go super slow over bumps
I feel that the car right now has some significant body roll and some slight under steer. (boat feeling)
I am planning on ordering sway bars right now to improve this, however im stuck between Hotchkis and Eibach sways.
Do you think the eibach sway bars will work better with the pro kit since they are the same brand?
im leaning toward hotchkis because the majority of people recommend them. However the fronts are significantly more stiff than the rear.
Will this cause even more understeer? even at the stiffest rear setting the front is stiffer. if you set the rear to the middle setting its supposed to be neutral... but the front is still super stiff percentage wise?
Hotchkis:
Front Sway Bar 35mm (Ø1-3/8") Hollow
+230% Stiffer than Stock G37
+205% Stiffer than stock G37S
Rear Sway Bar 28.5mm (Ø1.125") Hollow 3 Way Adjustable
+130, 185, 260% Stiffer than Stock G37,
+15, 40, 75% Stiffer than stock G37S
+60, 100, 155% Stiffer than stock G35S
Also in the near future when my shocks wear out im planning to replace the pro kit with Tein basis coilovers. And keep the same exact ride height..for a mild drop
.. does anyone know how the Tein basis coilovers are with eibach sways?
what about the basis coilovers with hotchkiss sways?
Would the Tein basis spring rates and damping, be an upgrade compared the E pro kitw/journey suspension?
so out of these options which would you guys recommend?
1. eibach pro kit springs with eibach sways
2. Eibach pro kit springs with hotchkis sways
3. Tein basis coilovers with eibach sways(future)
4.Tein basis coilovers with hotchkis sways(future)
In regards to swaybar settings..
Im looking to reduce body roll, keep the car planted during turns, and improve understeer
For hotchkiss: would the middle or stiffest rear setting be better?the front is non adjustable
For eibach:front on the first setting, and rear in the middle?or front on the first setting and rear on the stiffest?
Why would anyone want to run stiffest front and rear? would that reduce or increase understeer?
also how does spring rates, preload, and damping fit into how the car handles with sways?
Lets say i just finished watching tokyo drift and wanted to pretend i was DK in dat 370z..aside from getting manny for clutch kicks
would keeping the front setting soft, and rear setting stiff allow the rear to "break loose" easier?
making it better for drifting or powerslides? since the car is rwd would this make it oversteer too much for the street?
then replace the open diff with a os giken lsd? and bald rear tires?
shame the auto doesnt have handbrake
Also i came across this video:

Is this how the car would handle if the rear sway bar was set to the stiffest setting and front softest? or is it mainly beacuse of fwd

Pretty sure it doesn't matter which brand you get... potatoe potahto, same thing. Use the middle setting (if three) or the lower setting if two. You'll be fine, and body roll and understeer will go bye bye.
The dark side of the force is strong in this one.Fact is, if you push the stock G to the extent where tire grip begins to fail, it will understeer... regardless of tires. So yes, driving style has a lot to do with it, and understeer is a scary moment when you're on public roads.
The simple fix is to slow down. But if you'd rather drive hard into a corner with confidence, where slippage is more of a drift than understeer... then swaybars.

There's understeer where the front tire slip angle is greater than the rear tire slip angle, then there's UNDERSTEER where the front tires have given up the ghost. Haven't experienced UNDERSTEER yet in the G. Of course, I don't live in the Rust Belt...
I leave DSC engaged because it's fairly easy to use too much throttle and then the rear tires give up the ghost.

I can't speak for Hotchkis, but I currently have H&R spring with Eibach sway bars. I like to know I can adjust the fronts. Sway bars help with tuning/dialing in/out understeer and oversteer in relation to other suspension parts. But you can't go wrong with either.
