I think I'd put Bilstein above Fortunes though.

What's your criteria for good and what is your price point?

Aragosta
Ohlins
AST USA
Bilstein
KW
Greddy/KW
Tein Monosport
HKS
There's also a bunch out of Japan from tuner shops but they're really hard to get.

Lol over achiever.. I was just so used to everyone liking BC, KW and Tein coming from the 2JZ platforms but it seems pretty mixed for us VQ guys. I personally am sticking with a modest drop on my Tein/Tanabe set of springs. I've got a turbo hanging underneath the rear of the car so going lower is not really an option lol

Well none of those listed is about how much you can drop the car and all about damper performance and handling. Case in point, the recommended drop for the Aragostas is less than an inch so the roll center isn't changed and the car is basically balanced. Fuel load and driver will affect corner balance. The Aragostas will also go higher than stock which most dampers won't do. So you could run around at stock height. Not all of the above have separate height adjustment so your preload will be affected beyond their recommended settings.

Have you ever heard of Broadway static? BMW guys run them, they say it's the best coilover. You can run like 40k super stiff springs and it rides like butter. There are zero VQ's on them after asking a couple pages but I kind of want to try it out. I want a good riding coil but still be almost slammed. KW seems to my best bet but it's not really in my budget.

Broadway Statics are Fortune coilovers rebadged. I haven't seen my evidence they're superior to a "regular" Fortune digressive. But I'll give them a look. Brooklyn isn't exactly a racing Mecca.

So I think the main reason I wouldn't go with Broadway Static are the fact it's the same piston/shim stack design as Fortune, same seals, same case. Unless they've gotten someone like Ohlins, AST, Moton or one of the big players to create a shim/piston/shaft setup for them, they'll suffer the same issues as any of the other Korean/Taiwan/Chinese designs. Plus they've most likely not done a ton of testing on the G37 platform, if any. So their damper setup for the G is just a guess. Most of the BMW guys look like they use them for "stance" which is a good waste of $2K and a halfways decent chassis.

Broadway Static will customize damping for whatever spring rate you specify. I have no idea if the Fortune internals are worthwhile.

How many of us have the time, proper testing equipment and experience to choose dumper specs properly?

That's why I like Fatcat Motorsports. Not only does he know Bilstein, he shares a lot of his knowledge. His videos are very informative. I'm seriously considering his customized PSS10 even though adjustment is lost. That or Aragosta.

I've heard the PSS10 right really good too. A good amount cheaper than KW as well.
