I'm doing the slow brake up-grade like XERXIES_333. I'll be getting the rotors and pads, then the calipers, etc... I love this car.

The sedan and coupe pads are definitely the same. The caliper is the same too except the mounting bracket places it further out to accommodate the larger rotor. Also, it doesn't even utilize the entire rotor surface...Probably about 75% of it. It's a shame. Infiniti should have used the sedan 2 piston front calipers with the coupes rotors and increased the size of the pad on the rear. Would have been a great setup.

I'm still holding firm my belief that the coupe brakes were made just to look big not actually perform.

What are you referring to? Hopefully, not brakes as every Honda I have ever worked on has tiny little brakes. Looks like the new Type R will finally have some real brakes on it though.

In regards to being able to swap tons of parts across platforms. Crv motors in civics and integras. Legend brakes on integras. Integra brakes on civics. Distributors that work for a few.different motors. It was great. Parts plenty in junk yards too lol

Gotcha. That makes more sense. I thought you were talking about the quality of Honda brakes. Hondas and Subarus are probably two of the worst offenders here for undersized brakes. Probably the best thing to replace on those two cars if you plan on any track duty.

Akebonos if you want to fill the wheel well and impress other enthusiasts with your brake piston count. They stop well, too.

Well, yes, that would be a given. I needed a brake replacement and I like to see what other options are available. These brakes stop just fine...Really no different than the sedan ones but rears are 23mm larger diameter, fronts 10mm. They are also thicker. Considering I am putting coupe 18s on the car they should look just fine.

Hello everyone,

I just purchased 2012 G37 Coupe AWD. I have never been more confused about brakes than this car.

When ordering brakes, I was unable to determine what to order. I definitely know I don't have the big four piston calipers on the fronts.

So, can somone please help which size rotors I should get for the front and what size for the rears. The parts department says that since I have a coupe, wanted to give me 330mm for the fronts and rears.

Also.......do I have a 2 piston caliper in the rear and a 1 piston caliper in the front? Anyone with an AWD Coupe here?

Thanks so much in advance.

330mm front and rear. You have dual piston all 4. Akebonos and sedans are quad piston front

Thank you so much. I thought that since it an AWD coupe, it would be 320/307. Thanks again....I can order them now.

There is stickied thread at the top of this forum that explains everything you need to know about G37 brakes.

isnt there a single piston front with the 330mm rotors?

I just went ahead and installed the coupe brakes. I am almost done with the front. I will do my best to find that data again but a quick Google search showed that the stopping distance between the rwd coupe and AWD coupe was within 6 feet of each other. The AWD coupe has the sedan journey brake system and the rwd coupe has the bigger 330mm f and r brake rotors (the system I am currently installing). Now they attributed the added distance to the AWD being 200lbs heavier. Either way they should perform pretty close and my reasoning for just going forward with the single piston is that I am trying to fill in the opening in the wheels. The performance is pretty much a wash and I will let you all know if I feel like it's improved or degraded in a few hours once done.

Also, I got the entire brake setup for cheaper than just stoptech slotted rotors and same ceramic pads that came with this kit as replacements for the sedan. This will ultimately cost me about $100 less
Pretty sure the 2010 g37x uses the 330mm rotors. All coupes in the base package did in 2010.

Just realized how old this thread is. My bad.
