Exclamation OEM brake pad sounds

so im pretty sure i should just replace the OEM brake pads. but im curious if this is normal or dangerous or anything like that. so seems like after a hard rain or car wash my brakes make a loud thud sound when i release them. like at a stop light, when it turns green and i come off the brakes they make the sound. the car seems to stop fine(most of the time) and all its just a very loud noticeable sound which is weird to me. im guessing the rotors/pads are just kinda "cleaned up" after the water is on them. also sometimes after a while with no wash or rain, once in a while the brakes seem to need a lil more pressure to get the car to slow down under normal braking conditions which makes me think the OEM pads are just poop. Any input or suggestions are appreciated.

Easiest way to find out is to take off your wheels and check the pads. Check out this DIY video if you need help accessing them. If your pads are worn past the indicator, it's probably time to buy some replacements.
