It's getting more common for only 1 wear indicator for the front and 1 for the back, depending on brand. Both sides should wear just about the same, so unless you've had a sticking piston only having one "squealer" should suffice

If thats true that sucks. Imagine having one stuck caliper and never knowing until the pad is worn completely to the metal lol. Now we gotta check who has 1 and who has 2 indicators.

Don't you inspect pad wear anytime the wheels are off? I usually stick my head in there twice a year, when swapping to/from snow wheels/tires.

The fronts are real easy once you pivot the assembly out. Rears take a bit more contorting to see. I assume we're talking about the S rotors?

I've also gotten in the habit of jacking the front end up w/ my oil changes and free spinning the front wheels, just to make sure there's no binding. Then placing the vehicle on my ramps.

i contacted stoptech this morning. the guy said it was normal. when i asked why he said at some point thats how the oem ones were designed and they jus copied it. idk i looked at photos of oem pads and they had one on each pair so idk. its not a big deal.

Guess you're forced to check your pads now instead of waiting for them to scream at you

Mine started squeaking this week after my very spirited weekend run. I've been waiting for an excuse to grab some Hawk 5.0's, I'll check with the new pads and see what they come with.

That just means your drivers side caliper will start to stick.
