Steering wheel off center

So I picked up my 13' G37S with 22k miles a couple days ago and have noticed the steering wheel is off center, it sits roughly at 10 o'clock( so slightly left) when driving straight. I have an appt with the local dealership to repair possibly under warranty. Anyone know what could be the cause or have experienced this issue as well??

10 O'clock when driving straight is pretty jacked. Either someone reinstalled the steering wheel off center (why was it removed in the first place) or hitting a big pothole/curb caused this. It's possible you have a bent suspension component. Not sure how they'd warranty that as it's considered damaged.

If you didn't notice it during the test drive and drove it away then yeah, hopefully they are a cool dealer and just fix it but they can absolutely charge you for it. Hopefully its under warranty. But if the alignment is in check and they want to charge you for it, you can just pull the steering wheel and clock it a few teeth and re install. Its pretty simple.

I bought my 2014 Q60s with 19k miles and mine sits at what I would say is about 11:30. I just chalked it up as normal, let us know the outcome.

Bought my 13 ipl with 30kish miles steering was perfect. Go to Firestone for an alignment and steering wheel is cocked right. Some alignment tech just plain suck. I asked for my rear camber to be set at -2.5 they set it to -1.5. Will go elsewhere once my coilovers are installed. Op hoping its just a bad alignment

Most likely cause is that the steering wheel wasn't straight when the last alignment was performed. Simply adjusting the tie rods will fix this. Pull the left arm in a thread and push the right out in the same amount.

Got a call from the sales rep that sold me the car; found out the alignment machine is out of order(hence why my car wasn't proper im guessing), referred me to a local NTB and covering the cost. If everything goes as planned this afternoon this could be a decent ending to my first service encounter, with no money out of pocket

What's to say the initial alignment was correct (within spec) to begin with? Today's cars measure angles in hundredths of a degree. 20 years ago such a fix would be acceptable. Not today.

im not a wheel alignment specialist but a lot of time the alignment will be correct just the steering is off ( most shops dont check that ) they just go by the numbers and hope its good. my alignment was good in terms of numbers. this is the thread i found and followed

DIY: Centering the steering wheel after getting an alignment easily!

go read it and itll make sense.

Part of the initial steps after calibrating the alignment machine is to to center and lock the steering wheel into place. I'd run from any place that fails to do this.

I always test drive my car after an alignment before paying for the job. If the wheel is off, it's corrected. I'm pretty resourceful in the garage, but lack proper equipment for mounting tires and alignments.
