Diameter of a sway bar means very little. The stiffness is what does the job. A larger bar may not necessarily be as stiff as a smaller one.

The assumption here is that given a single manufacturer, the thicker bar would be stiffer. It's no guarantee, but likely good enough to rank bar stiffness across a single platform.

The interesting thing that I see from Hotchkis is that the 370z front and g37s front are the same stiffness, but the 370z rear is the same as a g37 (non Sport) and how much stiffer the g37s is in comparison.

That's why I think it would be good to measure a rear g37s sway bar thickness. If it's the same thickness as the IPL and NISMO then we can assume that the measured stiffness is the same and hence rank all the existing bars from softest to hardest with pretty good certainty by filling the blanks from Hotchkis who actually measured them.

If the g37s rear bar turns out to not be the same as an IPL/NISMO bar then that says the Hotchkis rear bar is likely SOFTER than the IPL/NISMO, which is interesting in itself.

Splitter, one question and just for clarification, you measured the sway bars on your car correct? And you have a Q60S limited? I'll measure my IPL bars just to make sure there's no difference. I couldn't find specifics on the Limited's suspension or how it differs from the regular S on Infiniti's site.

That'd be good.

I put money on them being the same, the limited is the IPL replacement without the ecu tune or body kit.

Per infiniti website:
Sport: sport suspension
Limited: Performance tuned sport suspension

**EDIT**
I did some searching for part numbers and using my VIN came up with this part number from Infiniti:
56230JL01B
Which also cross references via google to IPL Rear Stabiliser Bar.
More google sluething shows this page as well:
http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/2013...803-375706.htm

So I'm starting to think that the IPL, Sport and 370z NISMO rear bars are all the same.

Now just to confirm via measurement still if the sport and IPL bars are the same.

Amazon caliper tool says the rear ipl bar is 26.6mm.
With that said would buying a rear Hotchkiss only help me with understeer? Im on volk re30 19x10 and 19x11 and id like to add more oversteer the car feels really numb.

Hotchkis rear sway is 28.5mm plus it comes with three end link locations so you can go from a little bit stiffer to way stiffer. Don't talk about this to your SO, though, you might raise expectations.

2011 G37S sedan bars:

Front is 27.5 mm, I think it's solid.

Rear is 25 mm and definitely solid as I can't see a seam. Or maybe it's just very well finished?

Would have to weigh them to be certain.
