Lowering Springs

I'm looking to lower my 2011 G37xs coupe with swift springs since there aren't many good coilover options available for the AWD coupe and I don't want to spend too much money anyways. I'm wondering if the 1.3 inch drop in the front and 1 inch drop in the back will be problematic for my stock struts and if it will make them give up early or if I'll be ok. If anyone has experience please let me know, thanks.

Well they were released in the past 2 months so no one will have the specific experience you are looking for. I think any lowering spring will cause more strain on your stock struts but in the long term.

I put Tein S Tech lowering springs on my 08 G37 coupe, I believe it said 1.5 rear and 1.8 front and I ended up getting a little over 2 inches all the way around once they settled under the weight of the car.

Just a heads up, youre going to need a strong impact wrench for the front strut bolt. And try to install them all at the same time because you dont want them to settle at different times and make your car look like it has concrete in the trunk.

Tein S Techs aren't available for the AWD X.

Yeah, those "listed" drops for the deeper springs like H&R and S Techs seem to always drop more than advertised

I mean, any lowering spring / coilover option is going to result in reduced lifespan for your struts. I've had the Swift springs on my 2012 x coupe for a few weeks so I can't speak to anything long term but I've ridden in friends' cars that have lowered on both springs and coilovers and the ride was HARSH. As in any bump larger than a pebble resulted in a loud slam as the suspension took the hit. The Swift springs haven't been like that at all for me. Not much of a difference in ride quality compared to stock so I can only imagine that the spring rate isn't too much firmer. Seems to me like The Swifts won't wear out your struts as fast as a much firmer suspension option.
