Proper way to Install Strut Bar (NEED HELP)
Proper way to Install Strut Bar (NEED HELP)
Iv been thinking about getting a cusco or gt spec strut bar. Not sure which one yet so which one do y'all thinks better? Also whats the proper way to install the strut bar? With all 4 tires on the ground or raise the car and tighten them?
Might hold on until I get my Tanabe bar (if you happen to like the look that is), it just came out for the Q50 and I'm going to be the test mule to see if it works for our Gs, should be here in a couple weeks

The Cusco bar will likely fit without clearance issues between the engine cover and the sound-deadening panel attached to the underside of the hood. Whereas the GT-Spec will almost certainly rub. The simple solution for that is to remove the sound-deadening material.
Both come with blue brackets that will look, well, blue. While the color is out-of-place, it's still a quality powdercoating process. You can always paint them.
Both come with a clear-coating over the polished aluminum. If that's an issue for you, remove it and rock the raw, polished metal look.
Both come with a laser-etched logo in the middle. Again, if that's an issue for you, some elbow grease and 0000 steel wool will take care of that (as well as the clear-coat).
There is no wrong answer here. Both are quality products, and both do the job... which, while still a real suspension mod, is very minimal at best.
Subbed and responded, because I want to see what Newt is talking about.

Here is a good thread about this topic....I personally have the Cusco and love the look and sleek design vs the bulky round design of the GT...of course thats just my $0.02. Also as mentioned...I have had 0 clearance issues with the bar rubbing on anything witch is a win in my book.

I just hung up the phone with Yuki at CUSCO USA. He said that the installation of the G37 strut tower brace is to be performed with all 4 wheels on level ground and the suspension fully loaded. Cal him at (714) 907-0033. Beware he has a very heavy Japanese accent that may be hard for you to understand. So I made sure to get him to clarify and repeat it more than once to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding him.
