which of these end links would you rather have?

Moog should have created alternative part numbers for their Asia spec, euro spec, and domestic lines. I ordered a full set of these links from Amazon, and 3 out of 4 were the Asia spec. I want then to match.
The Asia spec is one piece of metal on the case while the domestic had a golden colored insert. In addition, the Asia spec boot seals much better than the domestic. Also, the Asia spec has a weird looking bolt head. It's too late to call Moog now, and Amazon was no help.

So if you were to get a matching set, which way would you go?

Those heads on the end of the Asia-Spec end links are Zerk fittings (Grease fittings) so you can lubricate the end links every oil change/ so often. Over time those fittings with "blow" and leak grease. As it looks like gold ones are sealed lubrication which require no maintenance as far as putting grease inside of the fitting.

Actually, the domestic (gold) ones have zerk fittings also, you just have to screw them on. That's a hole you see there on the back. The boot also seems like it would open a little compared to the Asia spec.

Ah! Okay didn't notice that. In that case more than likely domestic is the way I'd go.

Why is that? The sealed boot and single piece design seem like improvements to me. I've either got to exchange 1 or 3, and I don't mind doing either, but curious why you didn't choose the Asia spec.

I'll be calling Moog tomorrow for more insight.

If you want a single zerk fitting and a solid end link that's perfectly fine. I would think with the gold end link you'd get a little bit of flexibility as to greasing the link without damaging the seal too much. At the end of the day it's your choice don't just take my insight. Other people may be much more informative about this than myself.

Are they universal? I haven't been keeping up with the endlink discussions.

I have the Asia spec ones. OEM links were shot, so I had them installed with my Hotchkis sways on my X several months ago. No issues yet.

Did you seek out the Asia spec or were they just sent to you? Since Moog keeps the same part number for all 3 versions, I don't know how to ensure that I get 1 over the other. Amazon seems to have a mixed inventory.

Also most of what I've found online merely states that there are 3 versions, but that's it. No elaboration really between euro, Asia, and "problem solver" (domestic).

All 4. I actually had everything done at my local shop. They called up their parts supplier, and the guy brought the links in within an hour. I suppose those are just the ones that they had on hand. I hadn't requested any particular type, I just wanted them replaced as the OEM ones were completely gone.

I just got off the phone with Moog.

It's not the fact that the Asia Spec end links are Asia Spec, it's the fact that the product has been updated...and I basically got 3 newer end links, and 1 older end link.

The Asia Spec end link in the image above is the more recent product, and I can see why.

1. Solid 1 piece construction
2. Sealed boot

The support agent also said that just because I get an Asia Spec end link, doesn't mean it will be the updated product. It could also have the gold colored cap on the end link.

So getting a matching set will be a slight chore. I was really hoping all I needed to do was match the Asia Spec, but now, I have 2 things to match to ensure harmony...

Amazon came through for me and sent a replacement end link. It was the Asia spec with the updated (no gold) design too.

I now have a matching set. I was going to install them this weekend, but it's so damn windy today, and a cold front just moved in...it was mid 50's yesterday...18 degrees this morning, currently 26, with a high of 35 today.

We'll see what the afternoon brings.

No, they haven't broken, but these look stout, and it's harder (stiffer) to move the bolt around in that "ball joint". I think it may tighten up the suspension a little more.

I like the grease fittings, and once I put these in, I'll have my OEM as spares in the event that I break a Moog. Their lifetime warranty will probably take some time to cash in on, so the OEM will go back in waiting on the turnaround.
