Brakes Squeak

Brakes Squeak
Hi everyone!
It seems that my G developed a squeak. I thought it was the pads but I had it checked and I was told the pads have about 80% life left in them. So I was just wondering if anyone would know what could be wrong with it. I have the 2010 S model if that helps (and still under warranty).
Thanks!

I have a 2011 S and the breaks squeaked from day 1. Started out as only happening in reverse on rainy days or when cold, but now both ways regardless of weather. Dealer says pads have plenty left. I'm at 30k at this point with original stock wheels/brakes. On my old bimmer the dealers used to clean the pads and that would fix it for a while. Infiniti just checks the pads and plays dumb. I guess we have to deal with it.

A quarter past stripped
Grease the pins if you have the Akebonos and put grease on the backs of the pads as well. The pads should have shims (very thin metal covers) on the back of the pads. Grease where the pads or shims make contact with the piston. Good luck.

Yes, DEFINITELY love doing work myself but if it's still under warranty might as well take it in! And I'm still learning how to work on cars. Been driving an I30 up to this point so that car was generally reliable too.
I haven't taken the wheels off yet so I'll look at that over the weekend.
No clue about the ceramic pads. I'm assuming I have them because there isn't any brake dust on the wheels.
I'll definitely try that too! Just find it a bit weird (and embarrassing) to drive a fancy car with supposedly fine brakes making that annoying sound.

I have come to the conclusion that Infiniti / Nissan's just squeak.
I have tried aftermarket pads, turning the rotors, replacing the rotors. Regardless there is always a little squeak here and there, where other make cars have none.
Although it did seem the squeal much louder and frequent on OEM pads. I can even hear other Nissan's on the road with the same sound as they come to a slow stop.

The difference in this conversation is the Akebono sport brakes monoblock caliper design. Sure, you can lube and clean them and it will help the squeal for a short time. But light pedal pressure will always make monoblock brakes squeal- check out the best racecars in the world as they enter the pits and you'll hear that same squeal. But nail those same brakes when you really need them at high speed and guess what? No squeal- just strong predictable braking.
Let's face it- racing technology like the monoblock calipers were designed first and foremost to provide a huge heatsink for managing the stresses that brakes take in racing. They are also easier for the pit crews to service with fewer moving parts and ability to pull the pads and replace them from the top. But low speed brake squeal? Not very high on the racer wish list.
Bottom line: be proud of your Infiniti Sport brakes and readjust your thinking of the squeal as a small sacrifice in the name of real performance.

mine almost always squeal in reverse when wet....here and there they squeal when i am coming to a stop but only the slightest bit at the very end. i can deal with it for now but if it gets any worse ill have to try something
