Keep in mind Troop, the front fender isn't rolled like the rear so that little extra space is good to have IME. Especially since you're about at zero gap.

what about the G37 coupe AWD spring/strut/shock set up on an AWD sedan. There there will a difference?

I don't think there will be a difference, but im not certain. Try to find some pictures of both setups for comparison.
