Alignment after lowering

I dropped my 09 g37x awd coupe on eibachs 2 weeks ago. Also 20mm F spacers and 25mm R spacers. I am on stock 18 inch wheels. I went to an alignment shop today and they told me the rear arms are adjustable so they can adjust that but the front is non adjustable and I need a camber kit.

Is this true? or should I be going somewhere else

They quoted me estimated 700 all together for spc front camber kit, alignment, and labor. Out of the 700, $150 is for the alignment

Some people say you need a front camber kit, some people say you dont because the shop might be able to set it "within specs".

Im getting ready to drop my G with eibachs and I dont want to take a chance with my new tires. The only thing missing was the front SPC camber kit but I finally received it last week.

It depends.... Is the camber the same left and right? Can you feel the car pulling left or right? Camber won't wear your tires very fast as long as the toe is OK. Toward the end of life on your tires you might see more wear on the inside than on the outside.

Lowering the car always affects the camber. If you lower the front more than the rear the caster may be off also.

So did you do the alignment? If so post spec sheets.

Front SPC Camber arms are 385$ ish, rear camber arm / toe bolts are 115$, alignment 150$.

For 700$ for all that with labor I'd say that's very reasonable. Just the above without labor is 650$ already.

Me personally run at about -2 camber and I'm just going to flip the tires at 10k miles.

is the eibach drop for the awd different from the rwd? most people who are dropped on eibachs with their rwd coupes were able to go back to oem spec and didnt need a camber kit

edit: i found my answer, the weight from the transfer case on the X models cause the front to drop a little more which is why you need a front camber kit.

I believe the OP is saying $700 for only the front kit including alignment....kind if high

Gio37 is right. The 700 is only for the front camber kit, install, and alignment. The drop is 1.6 F and 1.9 R.

anyone with an x get an alignment here and was able to align the front properly "within" specs

I bought the kit but never installed it. I got the front within spec, and rears close enough. Didnt need the camber kit.

The front upper controls arms are non-adjustable. So with camber, what you get is what you get. As for install, if you've got an impact wrench and an afternoon to kill it's a pretty easy task to do.

@nukee26, did you end up getting new front control arms or do you have negative camber? Should I just invest in the front and rear camber kit or should I just leave the front as is and get the rear aligned? Will this significantly kill my tires? i am on stock 18s

Get an alignment but you dont need the front camber arms...my car is on coilovers and I dont have fronts, just rears. the camber in the front on eibachs isnt bad enough to justify spending the money on front arms. I used to have those and its fine.
