Help OEM suspension & bumps
OEM suspension & bumps
So I have a 2012 G sedan w/ 11k miles. My suspension is pretty much stock except for the Hotchkiss sways.
Lately, I have been noticing weird sounds coming from the front of my car whenever I go over speed bumps or the occasional bumps in the road - happens when it is cold and warm.
I can't really describe the sound - it's almost like "air" is escaping the strut? Or a swishing like sound.
I took it into Infiniti but couldn't replicate it.
I had an 05 Altima that made the same sound and the car could barely go over speed bumps without scraping because the struts were shot.
Anyone have any idea what it could be?

When you go over bumps/dips in the road, does the car bounce uncontrollably, or does it settle very quickly? Once you settle into a curve, does the car wallow or stays firmly settled?
Maybe your best bet is to drive your car and a new one on a similar stretch of road (ideally one not in perfect repair) to see how much difference there is. Your sways shouldn't play that big of a role since you're not cornering, but mainly straight line driving.
I've heard this air like sound before as the strut/shock absorber compresses/decompresses.

Yeah that's the sound I am talking about - can't really describe it but you hear it, you know it's there and it's making that noise.
I would think that hot/cold would play a difference in this but I get the sound regardless.
