Thanks for the review. I don't plan on lowering my car. I wonder how they would be with stock rwd suspension and stillen sways.

All I can say is that on my WRX with stock springs and upgraded sways, they are great. Worth the added expense if it's time to replace your stock struts and shocks.

Koni shocks vs. stock shocks on a G37 coupe...
Koni will RAISE the ride height by almost half an inch for both front and rear.

Both setup are on Eibach springs and 20" wheels.
I was hoping that it would lower it instead of raising it =_=... hopefully it settles overtime (it's already been 2 weeks since I got it installed).

How many miles were on your stock shocks? I'm guessing the raised ride height has more to do with the gas charge in the Konis than the location of the spring perch - can you confirm the perches were in the same vertical position on both shocks?

Next, was the 1/2" lift equal front to rear?

And finally and most importantly, how does it ride?

In front maybe, although after a few months now, my fronts are back to where they were. The rears did not change at all since installation doesn't require you to touch the springs at all. The front struts have their own lower perches and up top, the springs can sit differently--both need time to settle.

The ride is very good if you like a firm, taut ride. Especially at high speed, the disconcerting float is much reduced.

Stock shocks had around 15000 miles before the Eibach springs were installed.
I didn't do the install myself and my stock shocks are no longer with me so I cannot take the measurement you asked.

Yes, the 1/2" lift is "almost equal" both front and rear.

I have all four shocks set at the medium firm setting. The ride is slightly less bumpy than with stock shocks, but it is definitely more stable at higher speeds and when cornering.

That's good to hear. I hope mine settles soon.
I reused my Eibach springs when I switched out the stock shocks with Konis.

You are right, the rears shouldn't be affected since it's separate from the shocks. But for some unknown reason, my rear is also lifted.

That's why i think it has more to do with shock pressure than spring settling.

No Koni makes no AWD shocks. On all AWD G37s the front shocks mounts differently to the knuckle, so you'd need a front shock that specifically states it is for AWD.

Rear shocks all mount the same, AWD or RWD.

I just went through this whole things with shocks for the AWD sedan.. the only aftermarket ones I found are KYB GR2, and they are an OEM replacement.. According to KYB 5-10% firmer but there's no way to verify that, and I suspect since they are marketed as OEM replacements that they won't be much if any different than stock. So no Bilstein, Koni, Tokico..

that sucks. Could it be customized to fit? I want to get rid of the bounciness from stock awd shocks but do not want to go coilover route until there are better choices then bc and d2 :/

Agree, really wish there were some other options. Actually, would love to have some Ohlins dampers on my xS sedan to go with my Sprint springs...

Email Koni. That's what I did. If enough of us do that they might get off their butts and build these form the awd.
