Yea I know. Dba make the the best rotor and it's very durable. It also has high reviews.

Ok guys. Here is the deal. If we get 30+ rotor, we can get it for 272 each. I already have two people interesting buying a pair. That's 4 rotors. We need 26 more rotors to get it for $272 each. Anyone interested? Im going make a GB thread.

Do you have the weight of each rotor?

Are 2 piece REAR rotors available too? Price?

Do these rotors fit all G37's as long as they have OEM big sport brakes right?

I have a 2008 G37S coupe RWD.

Your weight savings with DBA 2 piece is not significant:




If youre going to drop 600 on front 2 piece rotors, you might as well spend more and get the most out of it. You save about 3.75lbs per rotor with DBA5000. With racingbrake, you lose 8lbs per rotor.

Wow, i expected the DBA's to be much lighter being a 2 pc.

How about the CZP 2 piece rotors? They look nearly identical to the DBA 2 piece..
I'm aiming for lightweight but RacingBrakes 2 piece are expensive.

Hm, I wonder why CZP rotors are lighter, if DBA makes i for them? Less durable?

I personally would prefer rotors with a superior ability to deal with heat and I'm willing to deal with the extra weight that may be required for this. Their vane design is pretty unique and they are nice rotors, but not the lightest by any means. If you save 2-3 lbs per rotor by replacing the iron hat with aluminum than you are reducing your braking capacity as you now have a smaller heat sink.

Lighter rotors is not the way to braking performance.

The hats hardly ever get that hot compared to the discs themselves, and they are typically isolated from all that heat due to the hats design.

Lighter rotors do affect braking performance, among other things. RB's also have a very unique vane/open slot design that works very well in dissipating all that excess heat at the limits. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not discounting that DBA probably works just as well.

As for the comparison in that video, I'm a little wary of it since it shows a full brake swap (lines, pads, rotors, fluid). We can achieve the same thing by doing the same to our OEM set-ups sans rotors.

Back on topic, any chance they can do a GB on rear 2pc as well? Given their price for the front, i'm sure their rears will be much more affordable than the RB rears, and it might help get the order # up.

26 lbs is about 20% lighter than our oem. Or made in china stoptech. This results into 20% better cooling. Equivalent cooling as a brake duct.

Also in for the GB.

Stoptech Blanks AKA Centrics Premium Rotor. 28.6lb

The weight matches my postal scale too, but I couldn't get a clear photograph.

I'm not knocking the DBAs, but the Stoptech blanks were dirt cheap, I track the hell out of the car, and I'm not sure the 2.5lb in weight savings is going to make me anymore competitive.
