Coilovers on a budget...Ksports..?

okay guys at the moment funds are tight for me with going back to school again, but still wanting to mod the car.

there is a set of Ksport Kontrol pros for sale for 600 in the classifieds that im thinking on getting.

my questions regarding Ksports on the G are the following:
-Are they Worth spending my money on?
-Any known issues with them?
-any other coils i should look for that are cheap?

my ultimate goal is to slam the car but still have a decentish ride. now ive had the Verison RR ksports on my VW R32 and those were the track spec race coils and were pretty awesome. now those cost me about 1800, these are the Kontrol pros which i havnt had experience with. Ill eventually buy a nicer coilover system I.E Fortune Auto down the line when funds are available again..
so if someone could help me out before i buy id appriciate it!

BTW read the review on the guy who bought them then did the bag over coil set up, just seeing on other opinions! thanks again

BC I think makes K-sport coils as well as D2, and Meghan if I remember correctly. They are a good coilover system, not the best but still pretty good for the money. Another way to go is to get springs and get aftermarket shocks/struts but again its up to you.

I had BC racing coil overs and they were great, you get 30 way dampening and a smooth ride for a great price. Unless your gonna track your car I wouldnt spend the money on KW3's it's not worth the price IMO

im not a fan of KW coilovers, had them on another car but didnt go low enough, im buying the Ksports to run so i can at least lower the car and improve handling a little until, as i had stated, have the funds for the Fortune Auto 5100 series or Zele/aragosta coilovers both about 2,500 - 3K

Why not just invest in springs then?

A lot of people say only buy coils if your gunna track. if not get spring and good shock-strut set up. It seems like more and more people are just buying coils though. Springs for our cars have some decent drops.

KSport, D2, BC, Form & Function, and Megan all use the same CHINESE company to make their parts for the coilovers.....

I heard horror stories about d2 and ksport coilovers breaking while driving, i would stay away from them. Just save a little more and get KW!

The older version of ksports sucked, the shock would go out to quick and you d have to replace them right away. Now I never seen any break as far as mounting points or such, but I do own a set that I have on my sentra and have had for about 6 years with no major issues. Oh, I did hear the pillow ball mounts sucked when they also were first released

The new version of ksports fixed all the issues and was and still is a decent coilover system.

However, if your a college studeent and have doubts, as many have said just buy some springs and save for the rest. But if your set on cheap coilovers, buy the ksports and call it a day.
