I just bought the Hotchkis Sway bars for my car. Can anyone explain what the difference is between the three different stiffening adjustment points on the REAR sway bar?

- If you've installed them, which setting did you use?

- Has anyone tried multiple settings? How do they differ in feel?

- Any descriptions of what I should expect with the oversteer/understeer situation with the three settings vs the stock bars?

The looser you set the rear, the less it will oversteer. The stiffer you set the rear, the more it will oversteer. I have had it set in all 3 settings. For my taste, the center setting is best. Each driver will have their own opinion of how they want it to feel, but I think a majority of the people I've seen comment chose the middle setting.

Personally, I set my front on the center setting and my rear on the tighter (there are only two on the rear for AWD Hotchkis sways.) I found it to be a bit tighter than stock at first, but now that I'm used to it, it's very comfortable for how I like to drive. I don't track my car or drive fast (reckless?) enough on public roads to be concerned about over/understeering; I just like to feel a bit of pull when cornering hard. Thanks Guys, That other thread was interesting. Funny that I'm also coming out of an Audi S4, so I'm trying to replicate that kind of cornering feel (just like the guys in the other thread). Looking forward to getting them installed.

I have it set on tightest both front and rear and feel like the rear does kick out a little too soon so I may take it down a notch one of these days.

So, do you use both sways set to the softest settings? How does it ride comparing to stock?

I'm planning to get them soon, but the roads here are so horrible sometimes so I plan to use them with the softest settings...

Since you're stiffening up the car, the ride quality will natural be worse. However, TBH I didn't notice much of a difference when going from stock bars to stiffest on Hotchkis bars. IMO, the improvement in handling far outweighs the decrease (if any) in ride quality.

im on the softest setting on the rear sway. i noticed a big difference from OEM and when i got the hotchkis. I never switched it to the middle... im kind of curious i just dont want to mess with the ride quality too much.

I just installed the Hotchkis sways tonight. Based upon most of what I've seen on the forums, I set the front to the softest, and rear to the medium setting. As far as cornering and ride quality, I'll chime back in a day or two from now.

So on my morning drive, I can definitely tell my handling is tighter. Turns which I would have to slow down for, I really don't anymore. Also when I take turns, my body doesn't roll out of my seat... really at all. I'll keep you guys updated as my experience continues.
