I have been reading on suspension mods for weeks. I was going to buy the PSS10s (there are sets for G35/350z and 370Z) but can't find any info to be sure if they fit.

Then I was looking at the V3 from KW, but the guy I would want installing them is 150 miles away and I wasn't sure if I would drive all that way. And they are way more pricey and may need camber kits that adds another $500.

Then I thought oh well, I can just get the springs and see if that would be enough. From my reads, with just the Eibach Pro kit, I wouldn't need camber kits. My local Tire Pros will install them and align the car for less than $300.

Tirerack is always a safe place to order and their website price is $229 + 25 for 3 day shipping.

The only issue is that the shop guy says I may need a front camber kit, but recommended that I get the springs first and see if he can get the alignment done first. I don't know if he will charge more to install 2 separate times or if it would be cheaper to get them done at the same time. The Front arm does cost over $330 a set.


So after all this rambling, I'm essentially hoping to buy handling happiness for around $500. Let's see if that is going to happen.

 

When I had Eibach didn't need any camber kit front or rear. Just hope you don't get the bug to go lower and then you will end up with coils.

 

i have eibach on for about a year and my front tires have been getting bad camber wear. i got front camber kits and that seemed to fix the problem. OP i would get front camber just to be safe. just my opinion good luck

 

I've had the ProKit for about 6 months with only a rear camber kit. the front camber was within spec.

 

A good alignment shop will be able to get you very close to spec without any aftermarket camber adjustment kits. Remember, first focus on getting the toe in spec and then worry about the neg camber.
Give the new springs a little time to settle before getting the alignment adjusted.
Here is an alignment example from a buddy who has the ProKit, on his 08 G35S, and everything else is OEM.

I installed my Eibach kit about a week ago and love it. The drop in the rear is perfect but the front could be slightly lower. I wanted a stock like ride quality and they are great. Only about 5-10% stiffer than the stock sport suspension. My wife didn't even notice any difference and she used to hate my old lowered Honda Fit.

 

Spring arrived yesterday from Tirerack. Amazing because it only took 2 days to get to me from their Nevada warehouse via UPS ground.

I have an appointment with my local Tire Pros to get them installed tomorrow. Pics to follow.

 

Just picked up the car from my local Tire Pros in San Diego. They charged me $250 for the install and alignment, which is a great deal.

The rear went from 28 to 26 5/6.
The front from 28 1/4 to 27 1/4.

The car looks lower than the 1 inch drop suggests.

I didn't get the alignment specs. The guy at the shop told me the rear is within spec, the fronts are a little out. I may need camber kits if the front wears too much. although I may have to align the car in a few weeks just to see.

Looks nice so far. I am in between these springs and coilovers, but I'd hope that your ride would settle down just a tad more for my tastes. Do you plan on installing some offsets on your current wheels? When it settles, take more pics and let us know how that alignment turns out!

 

I was torn for the longest time. I had Eibach springs on my last car and I liked it.

I do really want a nice set of coilovers, but Bilstein wouldn't confirm their PSS10 (for G35 or another for 370Z) will fit the V36 sedan. KW V3 doesn't even list the part everyone is selling on its website. All the other ones, I just didn't know enough about to want to take the plunge.

The springs are nice. The ride is a bit firmer without being too harsh. The lower stance is more obvious in person than the pictures can show. Anything lower may be too low for my taste actually.

It really points out that 18 inch rims are a little small for the well openings.

So far, I'm pretty happy. $250 for the springs and $250 for install.

I will take more pics in a few weeks and remeasure the height.

 

I waffled between springs and KW-V3 for about a minute. Then I said, if you're gonna do it, do it right the first time.

Fully adjustable and handling like you wouldn't believe. Not nearly as harsh a ride as springs, either. I understand we all have budgets and springs were within yours, but I would have waited and saved. You're going to want them later.

Just my opinion. Car looks nice with the springs, though.

 

If you don't mind me asking, which V3 did you get?

I see the xxxx-5007 listed for the coupe, but can't find the xxxx-6003 on KW's own website. Since you are in So Cal, where did you go for the install?


If I could have found the answer on the fitment AND be closer to West End Alignment in Carson for Darin to do the install, I would have surely gotten coilovers and the camber kit.

As it is, I'm 3 hours from the shop I want and not enough info to buy the coilover to try.
