Bc racing
I'm considering picking up a set of BC Racing Coilovers.
I've heard a lot of mix reviews. A lot of horror stories about the noises, creaks, leaks, sags, rear dumped, etc.
Then there are people who had 0 issues with them and are happy.
What's the final verdict on these coilovers? Are they worth picking up used?
Has anyone replaced their struts through BC for leaks, creaks, etc....?
Thanks!

I've had mine for about 14k miles now and have experienced no issues whatsoever. It's gone through sub-freezing temperatures all the way to typical Texas summers.
And as Houston goes, potholes and road ruts that makes you cringe.
The one on my car is i guess what you'd call Version 1 where the rear struts had the adjustment ***** at the top (i.e. run the extension cables through to either trunk or cabin, depending on whether you have a coupe or sedan). The V2's have the adjustments on the side, so you'd just have to raise the car and reach under to adjust from outside.
Also, i believe BC now also offers a higher sprung but taller rear spring so you can raise the car back to OEM spec. The one i have, 230mm IIRC, is a mixed bag. The fronts can raise up to higher than OEM, but the rears will certainly not.

^ I have the 255 spring for the rears (they just started offering this) and you can raise it a lot higher (probably almost as high as a stock - excluding the awd). get them installed properly and you shouldn't have any issues

The #1 reason people buy these is because they're cheap.
I wonder if they'll let me swap my 230's with those 255's. What's the spring rate on those?

At the risk of bringing up an age old argument, you do get what you pay for.
If all you want to do is drop the car a bit with some adjustability, these will do that just fine. If you're looking for an improvement in handling, well, that's subjective.

Mike, i'm curious, what makes you say that about the BC? (i.e. BC and handling).
The BC's may not be along the lines of Bilstein, and I don't frequent the track as much as you, but i do find the set to be quite an improvement over the stock suspension.

Most people perceive any change in ride/feel to automatically be better, but in the big picture, suspension means very little in terms of actual performance gain.
Using sticky tires for the rest of the life of the car would have a far larger effect on handling at likely a cheaper price (compared to keeping OEM tires on the car forever).
To put it in perspective, if we were to try to quantify the performance gain at the track, a small wing would do more for virtually all cars than the fanciest suspension you can buy. We're talking $80 ebay special wing versus $15k 3 way adjustable fully customizable shocks with remote reservoirs. The difference having a better tire would make is larger than the difference a wing would make.
Now, if you just prefer a harsher ride, you can make the car ride harsher with tires as well...
I still use stock suspension on my track car, because there is no performance gain to be had unless I'm willing to shell out 4k+. This debate happens daily elsewhere
