Aftermarket brake pads

The G just hit 20,000 miles, and it's time for brakes. What are the best pads for everyday driving? It's an 09 sedan, non-sport, thanks.

whats the difference between the hawk hps and the hawk performance ceramics? will they cause the stock rotor to wear faster?

Hawk HPS are a real nice pad. I've driven around on some Axxis pads in the past but those things wear out extremely quickly and didn't have the same bit that the HPS has.

I've never driven the ceramics, but I hear that you sacrifice a little bite for longevity and brake dust - at least that's what I hear.

I have the HP Ceramic. To me they are equivalent to OE braking (which is pretty good). They are very quiet, very low dust, and supposedly easy on the rotors. No doubt HPS brakes harder but has way more dust. For a daily driver, the choice is clear.

I just picked up some Stoptech street performance pads. From every review i read on them, they seemed like a great street pad with capabilities for higher amounts of abuse than other pads in the same category. I'll have them on next week so i'll be sure to post my review on them.

Thanks for the input, taking her to the dealer this friday for brake judder. braking modestly from highway speeds you can hear it, feel it in the steering wheel and the whole car shakes. (hopefully this will be covered under warranty, we'll see what happens)

While at the dealer though, would it be a good idea to just have them throw oem pads on?

Your rotors are warped, they will probably resurface them. It's just too much to have the dealer change them with OEMs, easier if you get them aftermarket and change them yourself.

Rock Auto also has really good prices on their brake pads, you just have to chose the one you want and if it's sport or non sport.

My X sedan does that too. When I brake above 60+mph the car will shake. I always though it was maybe abs or something. My pads are still in pretty good condition tho. My car has 27k miles should I go get it checked out?
