Why on earth would you swap back to OEM springs? It has zero effect on your traction in dry/wet conditions...

I wish there was more drop on the eibach pro kit on the rear. I still have a 1 inch gap...is this normal?

Eibach has lowered look with no side effects. Tein green springs are around 1.6 if correct. You might want to look into those. The lowest springs popular in the G community are the H&Rs but you'll rub or have some issues with those most likely. I think the Tein is perfect for the near slammed look and you should have minimal issues if any.

The reason some would think about swapping back to OEM springs for winter is to increase the clearance when driving in the snow. Probably not a big issue in some states but it is for those in Chicago or Canada.

The difference in clearance doesn't even seem close to worth it to go through the trouble of changing springs out...just buy snow tires...

Actually snow tires are required by law from Dec 15th to March 15th here. But the extra 1 to 1.5 inches in clearance will help with the snow clearance and stop it from clogging up the wheel well.

If it doesn't make much difference, why do people drop the car? Every inch or two makes a difference IMO. (Speaking from opinion only as I don't have a drop but am strongly considering it).

I understand the posters concern but also think it doesn't warrant changing out the springs - just choose the snow days when you won't drive the G.

Really? They are required?! Wow... I didn't realize that.

The difference in look and the difference in function is where i was coming from, the drop the eibachs give you changes the look to make it much better IMO but I just didn't think that drop would make much of a difference in a large amount of snow.

But I definitely didn't realize they required it in Canada, that is really surprising!

Not only required but required on all 4 wheels (no getting by with just the drive wheels like a lot of people used to).

The concern I have regarding a drop in deep winter snow is that I'll become the neighborhood snow plow. The lowest car sets the bar.... Loose snow is probably OK but it doesn't take too long to become hard pack that can damage low hanging parts.

If I leave for work before the snow plows are out, I'll set the bar.

If I understand your question correctly, no, there's no jarring bounce.

BTW, Besides Eibach springs, I also installed Hotchkis sway bars.

The combination makes for a smooth driving go-kart!!!
