Can this be done?

I recently read an article on a local magazine, this guy was on KW variant 3 coilovers on his 370Z, but the workshop he had it installed modified or added a pnuematic front so he could raise the car from inside the cabin to around 5cm, just so he can go over humps and steeper driveways. Can anyone here explain how this works, or explain what he did to the coilovers?
I am torn between getting an air runner set-up or this. Just for your information, the roads where i live are worse than those of new yorks, so that is why i need a set up like air sus or something i can control my ride height from inside the cabin.
I know the air sus and coilovers are totally different, and from what i read, i was really interested in getting the KW V3, but what kept me from getting it is because i cant adjust the ride height from the inside, well, till i read abt this article.
As for goin with air sus, well, i think that will be the best solution for my problem here, since the roads are ridiculous. But, i have doubts on the ride quality.
So... can someone explain to me abt this?
Thanks

I am not sure about the specifics, but i think it is an option on some of the new lamborghini gallardo's.."Front End Lift System"..

I am pretty sure it's the same concept.. coilovers that the front can be adjusted slightly from inside the car to get over certain bumps and inclines..

Thanks guys... but looking into someone who can explain how this works... maybe Lou? or anyone with a workshop?
I was thinking maybe its those top secret robutas(dun quite remember the brand) cups you put on top of the coilovers, or something simpler that can be added on to the coilovers...

It's called a cup kit. A number of companies produce them. A company out of SoCal called Platinum VIP offers an affordable version. They were at a show we attended this past weekend in Austin, TX. There was talk of our local G team Strictly G's perhaps organizing a group buy if there was enough interest.
PLATINUM VIP

This on is on John's To Secret G37. He demo'd it for me and I almost wet my pants. It can be raised and lowered at the touch of a button on the fly or even from outside the car with the optional remote control. It's not cheap though.
Welcome to the official TOP SECRET Homepage

Don't know if it fits the G, but the KW system is called KW HLS (Hydraulic lift system).

Thanks a lot black betty, that was on my mind, i mean the cup kit, but i havent got any reply yet from the magazine's editor(i emailed asking abt it). And yes, the top secret ones cost an arm! if i were to get that, i just go straight with Air Runner.. but the platinum Vip cup kits, where can i get more info on them from? And how do the ride fare? will it just be as good? And since you have seen first hand, what do you think abt it??

This would be more practical for the G just b/c I don't want to have to lug around that big air compressor in my trunk that bags require...this is a lot cleaner I think

you're right about your point hispeed-lowdrag, thats why i am considering this if it is
affordable and easy install, although if there are no other options, i will probably bag it.
Kidcane, bags would be cheaper if i were to go with coilovers+roberutas cp kits, but wat i read is that the car is controlled only by oil through a pneumatic switch, which ithink would be alot more practical to install and might be cheaper and i get to have a coilover installed which is definitely guaranteed of the ride quality, compared to the bags, which i have no idea how the ride will go.
Rain, how does the edfc work? i've been searching about it but still have no idea how it works....

The tein edfc only controls damping electrically, not ride height

The cup kits also use an air compressor but it's very small and quiet. The tank is small enough to fit in the glove box. No crappy ride quality - you can choose the coilovers you want to use with them. So you still have a fantastic suspension unlike an airbag setup. From talking to people at Platinum VIP, the install doesn't seem too hard.

I don't know the cost of a complete airbag setup.

So having a edfc won't help then. Black Betty, where can i get more info on that?
And i've had price ranges from $2300 all the way up to $5000+ for a complete air suspension system.. well.. at least what i was quoted. the most expensive being Air Runner. But since where i live, i only have access (agents) to Air Runner and Universal Air suspension, those are the two thats on my mind.
But since i came across that article, i am stuck on which direction i should be going.
Black Betty, can you please give me more info about the Platinum cup kits??
