Why do you think it is worse in the XS over the X?

They are probably right! It must have been your driving habit.

What were you people, that's right I said "you people", driving before your G, Cadillacs or Buicks???

My wife who has never own or driven a sporty car until she drove my 08xS last year and has driven my current G37S a few time loves the ride of the G. She even thinks the ride of my G37S is very smooth.

Agree with Gugarci. My wife likes my 09 G37s MUCH better than my old 07 TL type s. IMHO, the G37s has a significantly harsher ride than the TL-s. But I knew this going in, and I like it. The G37 is a sports car, the TL-s was a sport sedan, both great, but very different.

Same suspension on the sport AWD vs normal AWD BUT the bigger tires (18 inch vs. 17 inch on non-sport) will give a somewhat rougher (sportier ?) ride

I think it's perfect. Compliant over rough roads but still handles well and rides smooth. I guess it depends on what you're used to. Although, I was looking to upgrade to 19s, so that'll probably make it a little rougher.
