Need Brakes

well after 23k miles, my brakes are almost gone. Im debating between using aftermarket parts or sticking with OEMs. I know hawk pads are out there along with the stoptech rotors which seem to be very popular. My question is that which setup should I use or which ones have you guys had the most success with as far as pads and rotors go? My driving style is mainly free spirited, let me know!

I didnt like them at all, hated them actually. I thought they'd be better but nope, compared to my friends M3 (bad example I know) his were amazing.

So will aftermarket brakes remedy this hopefully?

If you can specify what exactly it was you hated about your brakes (driving conditions) we could probably give you a solution.

You can change the pads, upgrade to SS brake lines and upgrade the brake fluid. That should really change the feel.

Pads too aggressive will wear out your stock rotors faster remember

If you get street pads, it shouldn't. If you go with the HPS + race pads, then they will go through rotors quicker.

well i do a lot of free spirited driving, mostly highway so I brake alot at high speeds and I hate HATE HATE brake fading which I experienced alot with the stock brakes..So I mean I dont plan on upgrading the lines or anything, just pads and rotors for high speeds (fade free) braking..

Your brakes are fading due to them heating up, you'll basically need pads that can handle higher temps and rotors than can provide better cooling (drilled?).. some members here went with StopTechs

Don't get the Hawk HPS pads. I had them on my g35 and initial bite when cold was non-existent and I had to double pump my brakes to get it to bite when hot.

I spoke to an infiniti salesman at vividracing. He has the Hawk HP Plus pads on his car. I planned on getting the Project mu B-force pads for my car and he said that the project mus are much better. They also had some expensive endless pads but he didn't recommend those.

well guys sorry to bring this thread back, but im just throwing it out there that given the type of setup I wanted as listed above, Im going with Hawk HP+ pads with stoptech slotted rotors. I should mention that to me brake noise and brake dust are nothing so long as I have great stopping power and I feel this setup should deliver..

what you guys think?

that is absolutely fine with me, noise/brake dust is no concern for me, as long as they bite when I need them to. My stock oem brakes are horrible.

Another quick question, those of you who did the brakes your self, did you guys flush out the brake fluid and put new fluid in? Can I get away without doing it?
