Spring and Damper?
Does anyone know if an aftermarket dampener would ever be available for the G37?? I don't want coilovers, and i don't want to change only the springs either...i want a full spring and dampener setup...
btw, if i go for a mild drop, would i need the front camber and toe kits? or just the rear camber?
Thanks!

First off is because of price, dampener + spring is much cheaper than a good coilover kit...
secondly is that with a damper + spring setup, i don't have to mess around with any of the settings, the balance on the G is already pretty good, i don't want to have to jack up my car, and readjust the coilovers to find that perfect balance...i want to purchase a dampener and spring that is already track tested and pretty much slap those bad boys on and i'm ready to go....

This sounds pretty interesting. Anyone have any more info on this or if any companies are working on anything. I'd much rather save the money and do something like this, than full blown coilovers which i dont really need.

Competition Spec PRO210 Race Spring
Features highly tuned spring rates. PRO210 was developed for extreme durability and balance. This spring has the highest tensile strength available due to our patented manufacturing process. For professional suspension tuners, custom rates and sizes are available.
Short Stroke, Shortened Case Dampener
Short stroke and shortened case of the S-0C dampener allows for the vehicle to be lowered aggressively, without compromising suspension stroke or comfort.
Sport Tuned Internal Valving
Valving is specially tuned for excellent handling characteristics during sport driving, while allowing for very high levels of comfort during normal driving. The fixed-rate dampener uses a perfect internal setting, so external adjustment is not necessary on this model.
Low Pressure Gas, unique Dual Chamber Design
Not all dual chamber dampeners are created alike. The S-0C features a unique, highly advanced dual chamber design that ensures maximum durability and endurance. Low pressure gasses allow extremely smooth rebound characteristics. S-0C is highly unique in that performance, durability and comfort can co-exist.
Helper Springs
Helper springs assist with rebound stability, ride comfort and keep the main coil spring seated. Preload of the main spring can also be set to zero, for maximum comfort and suspension travel. Non helper spring models are also available for a lower cost! Click here to see the Type II model.
Durable Spring Seat & Lock Nut
Constructed of forged aluminum, longetivity and superior strength is ensured. Additionally, the threaded portion of the casing is chemically treated to resist rust and corrosion.
Upper Mount
The S-0C installs with factory uppermounts, for a simple bolt on installation. On some kits, rubber uppermounts are included.
Highest Quality
We take great pride in that all of our products are made in-house, 100% in Japan. Quality craftsmanship is found in all Sustec Pro suspensions, which is also certified by the highest manufacturing standard in the world, ISO9001. These systems are bolt-on, and are built extreme reliable for maximum enjoyment in motoring. Due to the durability, and extended lifespan of our suspensions, we do not need any rebuild or overhaul facility. Sustec Pro suspensions are quality systems with virtually a 0% failure rate.
Trending Topics
Probably still going to be a wait, apparently they didn't forcast the demand accurately. I'm not sure how long it would be if you ordered one now, check with Andy or your favorite dealer.
No dampers out for us yet as far as I know. I am waiting for them also, since I already got the springs. The next closest thing is what red suggested, the Tanabe coils.

Just to keep everybody up on terminology.
DampENing = to wet or moisten something
Damping = to decrease the amplitude of an electrical or mechanical wave.
Not trying to split hairs just making us more aware.

Your right, and it appears Dampening is misused greatly to describe Suspension damping. Take a look at Tanabe's own add.

sorry, maybe i didn't make myself clear, but i'm looking for something that's not adjustable (maybe just the damper rate, but definitely not height)....to me, that tanabe set is considered a coilover set....which i'm trying to stay away from. I'm looking for something more like Koni yellows matched with eibachs/h&r's!
solisimo: i never said the damper + spring was gonna be better than a coilover kit....i just simply don't want that many mechanical parts in my suspension..keeping it simple...if i want adjustments, i would have picked up the KW coilovers already...

and most of you are probably wondering why i don't just get springs, it's because i know what aftermarket springs do to stock dampers....over time, ur stock dampers will start to give, and u'll notice that ur car rides more like a boat in the middle of the ocean
