Eibach Help

Hey guys, Im really considering getting eibachs for the G..I dont plan on getting rims anytime soon, I just want to rid the wheel gap along with improving the handling of the car as I feel it still isnt stiff enough. So basically besides the springs, what else would I need? perhaps camber kit? (what does it do?) Also what are some of the pros and cons with getting aftermarket springs while still using OEM 19s? is there more tire wear? alignment issues? thanks guys and again, suspension stuff is all very new to me.

Well I have the Tanabe which are very similar. You'll need an alignment for sure with any springs you install. Some people have a shop that can get camber back into factory specs with no kit at all, some need a rear camber kit only. You should be fine in the front.

If you are thinking of buying a set of Eibachs, PM me before you buy. I have a brand new set still sitting in the box in my garage that I never installed that can save you some

Eibach springs is your best choice IMO. No too low, just right. At least for a lot of people. Stiffness is similar to the stock sport springs. Camber kit is to fix the negative camber that will happen when the ride height is lowered.
( from this /---\, to this |---| )
You shouldn't have any problem with premature tire wear if you get a camber kit and align it back to spec.

^^ nice visual

as far as camber kit, I have seen people prove and swear they are not needed, and some say they are. I guess it depends how good of an alignment you get, and how **** you are about PERFECT tire wear.

I just installed the Eibachs and I honestly cannot tell the difference in ride comfort from the stock springs. However, the car does handle curves with less body roll and I can enter turns with more speed without sacrificing stability. The overall look of the car is subtle but stylish (the front fender gap delete is the best part). Casual observers don't notice my car is "lowered" until I point it out to them. My post-Eibach alignment yielded settings just barely out of the stock settings without a camber kit and I will be monitoring my tires for uneven wear although I don't expect to find anything.

Some say Eibachs make for a slightly stiffer ride, I have 20s so I cannot say if the rougher ride is due to Eibachs but I think it's a combination of both.

The drop will definitely improve handling though. That, I noticed right away.

You don't need camber kit. With a good alignment, you should be able to get it back within spec. I did it with mine, no camber kit. Just alignment, which is necessary anyway.

Sways will make a very big difference in handling, more than the springs did.

Yes, I would definitely get the springs too but sways make it that much better. I did the sways on both my G35 and G37, had springs on my G35 and now coils on the G37 and made a huge differnce on both cars.

I'm in the same boat, except with stock 18s on my non-sport. I will be going eibach and hotchik sways going to put deposit for my local shop to order/install today (in canada).

From my research, unless you live in snowy conditions, n wanna drive there... u shld hit up eibachs/sways ... some concerns for eibachs

1) tire wear
2) stock struts life shorten
3) scraping

Tire wear, as most ppl hav already said you can live without camber kit and get close enough to spec. My plan is to have my tires run out then... buy some 20"s. If you want to spend $200 + install on camber kit for the rears and have perfect alignment go for it..

Stock struts, ppl say on the g35 it last 60miles, and with springs.. 50miles... some say 10% life shorten.. so this isnt too much of a concern jsut get coils later, or have aftermarket struts if they come up with them...

scraping, since it's such a subtle drop.. not many ppl experience scraping, however u shld be careful going up speed bumps, slow and angled... and same with steep slopes/driveways etc...

In the end if you dont want any of those issues, and want to increase handling get the hotchks sways, there is a video for the non-sport to show the diff and i believe it's on a stock car.. that isnt lowered..

what will the dealership do to eff you over? just keep the stock springs and return it back to stock when you return the lease...?
