Coilover question

If the adjustment ring on the spring changes ride height, then what does the adjustment on the rear damper do? And for anyone that has installed these, what should the be set at initially (install)?

You are supposed to adjust the 2 in unison so that you dont have too little or too much travel distance on your shock after adjusting your spring.
