How are everyone's brake pads holding up? I'm about to replace my tires (21,000 miles) and was thinking about replacing the pads while I was at it.

^ When you replace them, post up the price of OEM pads. Curious to how much these will set us back.

silly question. my brakes are starting to squeak really bad. would changing the brake pads eliminate this? i don't want to change them until i'm for sure that it is the brake pads and not the rotors. I'm @ 24k.

Mine are doing good (S Model BTW) and I'm at about 16K miles...

Yeah I suggest you change those bad boys... Just to be safe... Wouldn't want to warp the rotors...

So has anyone had to actually replace the brake pads on the S model, and at what mileage, what was the cost, and did you use aftermarket or oem pads?

If it's from the wear indicator you need new pads. If not, clean the pads and re-install with some brake quieter.

Still on my original pads at 25k. Looks like the OEM pad cost the same for sport model and non-sport. $53.8 for the front and $47.10 for the rear.

jeez people. you guys must be braking pretty heavily.

we do some fairly spirited twisty runs pretty often and i still have plenty of front pad left. and i'm just shy of 30k miles!

i downshift a lot... a LOT. i'd rather downshift to engine brake than actually use my brakes... maybe that's what is keeping them alive for so long?

I just had my front pads replaced at 27k highway miles. That comes out to $25 a month just for brake pads. I think that sucks.
