Brake pedal feels weird

I noticed this while sitting at a stop light today. I let go of the brake for a second and then slowly pressed on it again. When I push the brake down about 80-90% of the way, I can hear and feel this faint click on my foot. Reminds me of when you hold down a guitar string half way and strum that string.

It's hard to describe, but it's definitely there. Does anyone else experience this (or even know what I'm talking about for that matter)?

^Not sure what you are talking about. I will have to feel for this when I drive home tonight.

Yeah it's very subtle, so it's easier to feel it on your foot than hear it. Anyway, just try putting your foot on the brake, then VERY SLOWLY releasing it, then VERY SLOWLY pressing down again. I guess it's not a big deal right now, but my brakes better not fall apart a few months down the road.

I'm not sure what your talking about but when i press the brake in while sitting still i can feel a little something in my foot. That is not something wrong thats called good brake feel. What your feeling is the pad being pushed into the rotor. Its normal. that is what is described in magazines when they talk about cars having great brake feel through the pedal....

from my experience, when magazines talk about great brake feel, it usually refers to the pressure feedback and responsiveness of the brakes. yeah the brakes do feel fine, but it's just this clicking noise that i can faintly hear and feel on my foot that annoys me. definitely doesn't feel normal to me...but i guess since they're working fine, i won't bother taking it to the dealership quite yet.

well i dont have a clicking noise. and i also dont need to push the pedal all the way down in order to feel the brakes being applied through the pedal...

like i said, just something i noticed while sitting at a stop light. i dont think i've ever had a need to press the brakes down more than 60% of the way, and they work fine right now.

thanks for everyone's input. i'll keep you posted if the problem grows.
