When the bmw dude looks at your and smiles b/c your break squeaks a tad just ask him what size he is running. Mine ALWAYS SQUEAK. At first i was a little bit disappointed with it, now its just another reason for someone to look at the brakes and be like DAMNNNNNNN. Its ok man.

I've had the same issue on my 04 Coupe and my Girlfriend's 06 Sedan. In reverse the car would make a horrible squealing sound when applying the brakes. No issue in front braking. I changed my pads on the 04 Coupe to ceramics. No more issue. The 06 G35 sedan still makes the noise but not too bad. The entire G35 line has brake issues of some kind but the squealing is pretty common. I'm surprised they didn't attempt to do anything about it for the G37.

Damn, I have this issue as well, it only started happening about a week ago. I've had my car for 4 months now and it JUST started happening. That concerns me a bit. My garage can get pretty cold overnight, but I remember leaving in -20 degree weather with no squeaks. Not sure what's happening there, it doesn't squeak going forward ever, just reverse, if it's an issue with large rotors you'd think they would squeak when cold forward or reverse.

Something doesn't add up to me, if it was just the size of the rotors I would have expected this from day 1 not day 120+.

I'll probably be bringing it in, if anyone has any updates that has had work done for this please keep us informed.

Mine too...reverse only...when cold. Like Orbie, it just started, after 4 months of driving. Anybody have any luck with the dealer actually being able to fix it? I hate this piddley stuff... (love my car though!!!).

Anyone else had any progress with this issue? Mine's in the shop right now for service, but I doubt they'll find anything. I have a feeling they'll just say we couldn't duplicate it or the brakes are just cold...

brakes?

Mine don't squeak but they grate like there is a pad off kilter or something. Dealer says they are fine of course, but I can feel it all the way up my leg everytime I use them. Am taking my case directly to Infinity Number is 800-662-6200 for anyone not getting satsifaction.

to saminizer

Nope, it feels like the pads are just beginning to dig into the rotors. But of course tech says he feels nothing and they show no signs of bad wear?

I have the same exact problem . Started about 4 months in and happens absolutely every time I reverse . The dealer noticed nothing n said there was no problem. I'm bringing it back because the sound is too anoying. I will show them the sound myself. It. Helps to know I am not alone. I thought it was because I was an aweful breaker haha. Is it true that if u change the pads to ceramics that this will stop?

6000 km servicing, clean everything, including rust on the rotors and steam clean the vents also

so its been two days since i've been to the dealer and the breaks seem fine. i have heard a few tiny squeaks but nothing compared to the constant squeaks i wwas getting. they told me that it happens because of a number of reasons ranging from1. the breaks develop a directional bias due to the wear from breaking while in drive and the minimal breaking while in reverse also they said it has a lot to do with dirt. basically it is all normal and will continue to happen eventually and whenever i want or you want you can go in have them cleaned up and alll. plus it was afree so that was great
