Laws Regarding Amber HeadLights?
Laws Regarding Amber HeadLights?
I was planning on replacing the the coupe side strip with amber LEDs and painting it. It seems however this is illegal nationwide. Does anyone definitively know what the law is? I’ve done some digging and get varying answers. My understanding after doing some DD is that you have to have some amber reflector in the side of the headlight. This (stupid) law is supposed to be so that other people can gauge your direction (so dumb). I also thought turn signals needed to be amber, but from I’ve read, they actually don’t. They can be white? As far as the reflector, any ideas on how to do led side strip while still staying in compliance some how? Would adding a fender reflector suffice (not that this is a better option, just wondering).
I am going to paint my housing to color match the gray car and intended to paint the side strip too and then run a (amber) led strip by diode that plugs into that 168 socket. I would drills holes in the strip and insert glass or acrylic dome caps to basically get the effect that the pros charge like $300 for while using no extra wiring and it’s super easy (assuming your opening your lights up). That all goes out the window though since I want to keep my lights in compliance, unless someone has any ideas.
