Alternative to Z1 shift **** finisher?

I got a good deal on a new Mishimoto weighted shift ****, but it's going to leave a gap with the shift boot. Ordering a finisher from Z1 is going to cost over $30 (shipping+tax) for essentially a fancy washer. There's some $12 shift boot retainers on ebay, though they'll raise the height quite a bit. Anything else I could consider?

Z1 Finisher

Looking at the mod list in your sig, knowing that you drive an IPL of all cars, and you're actually hitting the pause button on a $30 trim piece?

LatheWerks turns shift-**** collars. https://www.lathewerks.com/

Lol, yeah I was just trying to see if a weighted **** was for me before I got something nicer that was $150+ and would come with one. I never thought about it until I got the STS and wasn't sure about how I would feel about a metal one in the TX heat. I got the stock **** off with no damage and like the way it feels and looks. Won't disagree that I sound ridiculous.

Edit: I was actually looking at their *****, but didn't see the collars as a separate item. I'm sure I could work something out with the guy, but was just seeing if there were simple solutions.

I've had three interactions with the guy who operates LatheWerks. The first was buying but **** and collar itself. The second was having him spin up a custom stand-off to bring my **** height back up to normal fitment after the STS, and the third was having him re-cut the finish on my Ti **** after a few years of use. Each and every time he was professional, accommodating and very fair priced.

As to having a solid metal **** in the summer heat... it's a noticeable thing, but not nearly as unbearable as having a solid metal **** during the winter. That's not a problem for you outside of Houston.
