I snagged a set off a 2013 sedan that had them.
I pulled the wiring until I reached the dash harness.
I was able to take the connector from the car, it appears that the harness might bring this connector for the 2013s. Mines is a 2010 what have y'all been doing for connections.

Most of the ones I see have controllers and mines did not.

The kickplates are connected to the BCM via a T-harness that came with the kit. Trust me, it is easier to just tap the two wires at the BCM and call it a day. You will need to locate the two wires for the door (puddle, or "step") lamps.

There are no "controllers" for the door sills. They are just simple, dumb LED strips: apply power they light up, no power, off. Some of the "ambient lighting" kits are now using controllers though I am sure that is only to justify the crazy prices being charged.
