Any way to buy new OEM projectors?
So I hit a deer with the passenger side of my car, shattered the headlight housing among other damages. I replaced the headlight housing which came with a new projector, and it’s much brighter that my drivers’ side. Replaced bulbs on both sides to make sure it wasn’t just an old bulb making the friver’s side look so dim. Now I want to replace the driver’s side projector but I’m having some trouble.
I’ve opened the housings a few times to paint the insides and swap lenses and all that, so the work isn’t the issue.
To my knowledge, there is no possible way to buy a new projector without buying the entire housing, which is north of $500. I don’t need a new housing.
This just seems so ridiculous.

thats true, I talked to the guys at TRS and they linked me to some adapter brackets that some company makes for their FX-R projectors which is the route I’m probably going to take, but it still seems bizarre that you can’t just buy a new OEM projector considering they are somewhat wearable parts.
Sounds like you just want both sides with new projectors. Please post whatever you decide to do with pictures if you could. I’m interested in the performance of different projectors compared to stock.
ive been contemplating changing out my lenses as well and the sti route seems to be a popular and at about 50 bucks , not too bad, but I am not too thrilled with opening , baking etc my headlights so have been hesitant, but yeah, do post the how and how it looks...unless you live in central fl, would pay you to help me out lol

Yeah you pretty much nailed it. It’s driving me crazy having my passenger side headlight bright and crisp while my driver’s side is barely doing anything. I unplugged the ballast for the passenger side and could barely tell the drivers side was even on.
If you have a few days where you don’t need to use your car, I highly recommend it. It’s not nearly as hard as it sounds, but it IS a pain in the *** job. Hard? No. Annoying? To me, yes.

yeah, I've seen some pics in the past and it does seem to greatly improve the output and a crisper light beam, so Ive been contemplating...also saw a recent post for headlights but at 400+...vs the sti lens this seems to be a win win ...its just the work involved appears to be like brain surgery...too long in the oven and bam!..new brain... err.headlights ...but at some point may jump in and do it...lol...anyway dude, post some pics for incentive for those guys on the fence...
Heres my headlights after baking and painting!

I have a 2011, but it’s got over 180k miles on it. I drive 400+ miles a week for work and half of that is at night which night have accelerated wear on the projectors.
