Spot fix for dent/scratch on rear quarter panel/bumper

Hi guys!

I am wondering whether a spot fix is worth it at all for the damage shown on the below pictures. I got a quote to get it fixed for $200. The owner of the body shop said that it would last two years, however I got a few other shops said that a spot fix like that would only last about 6 months. The said owner offered me a "warranty" that the paint would stay for two years. He seems overall honest, I am just not sure if he knows whether it will last for two years. Yes, I know that it'd best to fix it the right way, by doing the entire quarter panel, plus some/all of the bumper. That'd cost about 600-700, quoted from 3 different body shops. I am planning to keep my car for another 1.5-2 years.

What do you guys think?

Tony

If he's going to warranty it for 2 yrs then I'd say go for it. As long as you're ok with potentially having to go back to him.

200 bucks??!!! definitely do it!! Especially if he warranties his work for 2 years that's an easy decision.
I could not stand looking at that! Does this include the fenders too? That's gonna start rusting soon.....

I'll bet it looks like crap once all done but hope it works in your favour should you go that route...
Unless you blend in the entire rear panel it will probably stick out

I'd be more worried about matching that pear paint...200 dollars its probably worth a shot if at least to stop the rust even if the finish doesn't hold up 100%

post pics if you get it done

Update: They didn't do a perfect job, but it definitely looks better than before. Can't tell the difference in paint color.

I think it looks great. Even if it only lasts a year or two worth the $200 for sure
