Can our doors be modified?
Hey forum,
So I've noticed a lot that my door closes itself very sarcastically. I'll open it, turn to my passenger seat to grab stuff and as I turn around its shutting in my face. I've opened it, stuck my leg out and its closed on my leg, I've reached my hand out and it closes on my hand.
Recently saw a video on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage and it has what are called "Infinity Doors" where in they will stay in ANY position you open the door to. Can regular car door hinges be modified to do this and not have those preset notches? This happens with my door on uphills, downhills and level ground. All the preset notches are either too far or too close for me to get in or out of and/or hit other cars. I only notice this because it is a very common problem in my day to day...as in more often than not I find myself cursing the door. I find myself angry at the car but I know it isn't its fault.
I used to have an old Lexus SC300 with tank like doors that stayed in any position you'd open them too. Maybe I just got spoiled and used to that and have to get used to this? Or park further away where I can just open the door all the way? I'm pretty tall so I don't like feeling like a worm squirming out of the car.
Thanks!

Problem solved! haha
Seriously though if you can find one that fits it wouldn't be too hard to replace. The new Q60 has a similar feature - "The two doors open wide and are hinged to stop at every point"
