Interior console trim replacement

'11 G37x and the chrome trim on the console has started to separate from the plastic leaving sharp edges that I've cut myself on (see attached pic). Any good sources for buying the trim piece without having to buy the whole console? Thx! R

I have the same issue. I was thinking about just sanding it down and either painting or wrapping it.

I'd considered that too. Have you tried to remove it from the armrest by chance? I removed the screws underneath it but it didn't come apart so wasn't sure how it disassembled.

Coming from the Euro crowd, that is one thing I am disappointed in. The finish on the interior of this car leaves much to be desired. I have similar issues on my console, my trim on my automatic shifter is peeling. The door trim on the passenger side looks like someone scrapes their keys across it... SMH

But I guess they have to cut costs somewhere to deliver a car that performs as this one does while being reliable.

I have the same situation with the door trim and other trim wearing down. Planning to wrap it all w/ brushed black.

It's pretty easy to remove. I replaced my armrest cover with a Redline Goods cover, so worth it. You just remove the first set of screws and gently pry the plastic apart and it exposes the trim piece to remove. Here are a few pics.
You'll remove all these screws, indicated by the arrow. Remember, gently pry the plastic from the top and it will come off.

The trim is held down by those little screws indicated by the red dots.

Mine is black as well. I was thinking brushed gunmetal initially but I figured it wouldn't look that different from stock. Thought I'd try brushed black as it's a clean look but it might all blend into one big black blob, we'll see.

Thread posters...please post pics of final finish on the trim piece. I'm thinking painted satin black because I don't know how to wrap the piece with anything nicer. Ideas (and technique!) appreciated...

I would like to see an updated photo as well. I'm having the same issue with the silver foil on my console.
