There are probably several different categories to put this question in but I'll try the Body Interior.

Due to an issue with blown fuses in the IPDM I could not shift my 2010 G37 convertible out of Park. Engine would start but shift lock engaged. See the results of that issue elsewhere. In the process I decided to remove the Shift Lock Cover and manually operate the Shift Lock to release from Park. When I pried the cover off it popped up and vanished into ...somewhere... I've been all over the interior trying to find it with no luck.

After getting the actual issue with the shift lock fixed at a dealer I inquired at the parts counter about getting a replacement shift lock cover. After looking the best they could do is sell me the entire shifter cover for $998. Even the parts guy was surprised that they couldn't get it.

I've looked at Amazon, eBay and all over this forum trying to find a replacement cover with no luck. I don't want to leave it open for fear of getting dirt or other foreign matter down inside the shift lock.

Has anyone ever found a source for these or know if a cover from a different type vehicle (Nissan, etc) that will work or have one they would sell me? If you have one to sell please PM or respond via email.

Same thing happened to me on my FX35!! ....except when I got the car back from mechanic, the piece was missing. CANNOT find it anywhere on the web.
Curious if u ever found one...or found a solution??

 

Looked all over the internet and never found one. What I did was used one of my wife's nylons over the vacuum hose and vacuumed the car. Using the nylon as a filter the vacuum picked it up. Had to dig thru a bunch of other trash it picked up but I was successful!

Check craigslist for totaled cars being parted out

 

15 bucks is 15 bucks. Try the vacuum trick to see if turns up otherwise buy it. I would have paid the $15 to avoid digging thru the junk but luckily i found mine pretty quick.

 

Do you know if the shift lock cover you bought fits a 2013 G37?

I recently lost mine and it was in the cup holder. took me all day to find it. There's a little space in the back of the cupholder where this cover can just fit in. I used a flashlight and just saw the top of it..... just a thought
