Aftermarket Front Seat Height

Hey guys, I'm thinking of swapping my front seats for Sparco chrono road seats. I went to sparco to check them out and the sales rep there told me their bracket will not lower the seat too much.

I wanted to check if anyone has experience with adjustable back sparco seats. I want to gain like an extra 3 inches of head room. Will sparco mounting bracket allow me to be low enough?

Other option sparco guy recommended was custom brackets. But I don't really want to spend another $500 for bracket.

3" of head room is a ton to gain. Manufacturers do everything they can and include this measurement in almost every car sold because its important to all kinds of buyers. Solely moving to an aftermarket seat will shed some material in the form of padding/comfort so you can already expect an inch or so from that. If you can find a spot you'll be happy with while sitting behind the wheel, you can have a couple custom brackets made to bolt the seat directly in place and not have rails at all, that would drop the seat quite a bit alone.

Also, if you find a permanent spot for the seat, just get some side mount brackets, they're like $75 all day and super thin.

Thanks Kris. I may end up doing this if all else fails. I really would like sliding seat if possible.

Does anyone know how much head room I will gain with sparco seats with their sliding bracket?

I hear ya, I pretty much never adjust my seat but I would hate to not have the option to if the situation arose. I bet with some thin rails and the Sparco's you can expect at least 2", maybe more.

Hm.... I kind of want to give it a try. My head goes into the sunroof housing by maybe 2 inches or so. If someone else can confirm getting 2+ inches, it may be good enough for me.

Lol yeah still an ongoing issue. Wasn’t sure if I was keeping the car or if insurance was going to total it or not. Looks like I’m keeping it for a while. At least until I graduate.

Anyway I might do the fixed position thing and call it a day. My gf isn’t comfortable enough to drive my car by herself if needed and I’m moving out of state from my family so why not? Anything that gives my back the support needed.

But I’m 6’5, 6’6 on a good day. And I have to sit sideways with the sun visor open. But usually I slouch, which I truly believe is a big contribution to my back issues.
