Please help me find this water leak it is ruining my floorboards
I own a 2012 g37 Sedan. It has the sport appearance, but no navi, no bimbo breaks, all 17" wheels, and the bose sound system. RWD.
On the passenger side water will sometimes flood the floorboard. Sometime if I park at an angle I dont have an issue, say if I park facing up a hill. If Im on f;at parking I can almost guarantee that it floods. So fare Ive attempted to use silicone sealant on the seal around the bottom of the windshield. Didnt work at all...
The water runs in right behind the glove box, and seems to drip from the bottom or back of the glove. Nothing in the glove box is wet. The filter in the glovebox area also stays dry.
Recently in a large storm THE DRIVERS side also dumped some water on my feet. (Only happened once.)
Please help me find a solution to this problem. I love this car. Sometimes driving it is the best part of my day.
I dont have a lot of money to get this fixed in the shop. I would be super grateful for any help or ideas of where to start.
Thank you all so very much!!!

Do you have the moonroof??? Mine is leaking where the sunroof drain tubes pass thru the fire wall.. there are plastic pieces that the drain tubes connect to that are leaking, cause they are cracked.. Parts are only about $6-7 each, but are hard to get to... from the videos I have watched..
Yup it’s very likely the sunroof drain ports. I had the same issue and I bought (randomly) a reel of weedeater cable that reached far enough through the little ports at the corners of the sunroof and ran it through there and just tried to unclog it which is where the plastic piece is at that is clogged. I was successful I could see where the dirt had built up and running water in there along with the wire I dislodged the dirt and then I could see the water starting to drain from under the wheel well. It helps if you take apart the trim that runs from the door up top down to the dashboard, you’ll see the silicone tube where the water runs through and can get a better idea of when the water starts to drain when you try to dislodge the build up.
All makes have some common sunroof issues. The drains do get plugged as discussed above. The tubes can be rodded out or gently blown out with air. Also over time the drain tubes tend to shrink and can pull themselves off the barbs on the drain pan under the headliner. To fix this drop the headliner and extend the tubes or stretch the tubes (heat helps), and secure the tube to the barb. I use safety wire wrapped 720 degrees and tightened down. On a G I believe the front drain tubes exit on the firewall. The rear drain tubes exit on the 1/4 panel behind the rear tires under the sides of the rear bumper cover.
On a G the bulkhead fittings at the exits can get loose. Water runs back along the fitting and down the inside of the firewall or into the trunk. There are examples of how to modify the fitting to prevent this on youtube.
